There, he saw children working in the fields, because they were too poor to afford school fees. Bai returned to Tianjin and went back to work as a rickshaw puller, taking a modest accommodation next to the railway station. He waited for clients 24 hours a day, ate simple food and wore discarded second-hand clothes he found. He gave all of his hard-earned earnings to support children who could not afford education.

In 2001, he pulled his rickshaw to Tianjin Yao Hua Middle School, to deliver his last installment of money. Nearly 90 years old, he told the students that he couldn’t work anymore. All of the students and teachers were moved to tears.

In total, Bai had donated a total of 350,000 Yuan to help more than 300 poor students continue with their studies.

In 2005, Bai passed away leaving behind an inspiring legacy.

If a rickshaw-puller who wore used clothes and had no education can support 300 children to go to school, imagine what you and I can do with the resources we have to bring about positive change in our world!

I am doing my share

I also came from a poor family and now I have more money than I require. I am offering scholarships to help poor students to complete their degree courses. Up to date I have given scholarships to about 300 poor students whose family income is not more than Rm 3,000 per month. After their graduations they are not obliged to work for me, nor they are required to pay back all the money I spent on them. I just want them to remember that when they were poor, I helped them and when they are financially solvent, they should help other poor students.

About 200 scholarship recipients have graduated and I hope some of them will continue to do charity.

If you know of poor students who need financial help, please ask them to google koonyewyin scholarship and apply accordingly.

NOTE: All my wealth is from my share investment. Unfortunately there are a few critics like murali, KC Chong and a few stupid critics do not believe me. They should examine their own track record to see how well they have performed.

As you know, KC Chong has written a few articles to discourage people from buying VS Industry. He uses all his accounting jargons to impress you. But the price of VS is shooting up like a rocket.

He should realize his mistake after he posted his 1st article on VS. He posted another and another while the price keeps going up while I am laughing all the way to my bank.

In any case, as I said many a time before, I do not need you to buy to push up the share prices to enrich me.

Currently my holdings are VS, Latitude, Lii Hen, Poh Huat and Hevea and their price charts are shouting louder than all my critics.
