More than 100 possible vaccines are being developed around the world to try to stop the Covid-19 pandemic. At least four are in final Phase III human trials, according to WHO data.

Currently many people WhatsApp messages about Russia having the first Covid 19 vaccine to resolve the pandemic. This is the latest news from Russia. Speaking at a government meeting on state television, Putin said the vaccine, developed by Moscow’s GamaleyaInstitute, was safe and that it had even been administered to one of his daughters.

“I know that it works quite effectively, forms strong immunity, and I repeat, it has passed all the needed checks,” said Putin.

He said he hoped the country would soon start mass producing the vaccine.

Its approval by the health ministry foreshadows the start of a larger trial involving thousands of participants, commonly known as a Phase III trial.

Such trials, which require a certain rate of participants catching the virus to observe the vaccine’s effect, are normally considered essential precursors for a vaccine to receive regulatory approval.

Regulators around the world have insisted that the rush to develop Covid-19 vaccines will not compromise safety. But recent surveys show growing public distrust in governments’ efforts to rapidly produce such a vaccine.

Russian health workers treating Covid-19 patients will be offered the chance of volunteering to be vaccinated soon after the vaccine’s approval, a source told Reuters last month.

Currently there are 20.275 million Covid 19 cases and 739,526 deaths in the world. As shown on the above charts, these figures are still spiking up.

In the US there are 5.08 million Covid 19 cases and 163 deaths. Unfortunately, these 2 figures are still spiking up and President Trump does not know how to resolve this catastrophe.

Useful information for investors

Covid 19 pandemic is affecting everyone including all the listed companies with the exception of medical gloves and medical products for protection against the virus. As a result, the demand for gloves far exceeds supply and all the glove makers can easily increase their selling prices to make more and more profit which is being reflected on their share prices. That is why all the glove stocks have gone up a few hundred percent in the last few months.

The daily traded volume for each glove stock is tens of   millions shares which is unprecedented. There must be millions of sellers and buyers daily. The sellers are afraid the Covid 19 vaccine will soon resolve the pandemic and reduce the demand for gloves. But the smart buyers know that even if the vaccine is approved, it will take a long time to stop the pandemic.

Everyone must be vaccinated to be effective

Even if vaccine is finally approved by FDA, it will take some time to produce enough of vaccine to immunise all the people around the world to stop the spread of the virus. To be effective, everyone must be vaccinated. Initially, the demand for vaccination will far exceeds supply. As a result, the cost for vaccination will be too expensive for the ordinary people. Only the rich people can afford to have vaccination. Unless everyone is vaccinated, the virus will continue to spread.
